October 24, 2013
The OBSERVER

The Cassadaga Valley Kiwanis Club sponsored a community training workshop, "Stewards of Children" at the Cassadaga Library. Jana McDermott, Executive Director of the Child Advocacy Program of Chautauqua County, conducted the interactive training session on recognizing and preventing child sexual abuse. The 5-step "Darkness to Light" program teaches adults how to prevent, recognize and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. The Child Advocacy Program (CAP) believes that all adults are responsible for the safety and protection of children in our community. Individuals and community groups are encouraged to become part of the Stewards of Children program. For more information call CAP at 338-9844 or go to the website: www.capjustice.org.
