MAYVILLE - Top-ranked Chautauqua Lake played host to No. 16 West Valley (8-12) and the Lady Thunderbirds improved to 16-0 with a 25-16, 25-16, 25-21 victory in Class D girls high school volleyball playoff action.
For the winners, Jenna Einink delivered 15 kills, two aces, nine digs, two assists and six blocks, Ashton Albanesius added eight kills, seven digs and three blocks, Kylee Braymiller had five kills and seven digs, Katie Meadows contributed four kills, an ace, nine digs, 12 assists and a block, and Tara Hunt had an ace, eight digs and 19 assists.
For West Valley, Kenzie Czapla had 21 digs and Madison Czapla came through with four kills.

NORTH COLLINS - It took just three games for the No. 6 North Collins Eagles to defeat the No. 11 Sherman Wildcats, 25-10, 25-13, 25-13, Friday in the girls volleyball pre-quarterfinal round of the Section 6 playoffs.
Angela Filkov led North Collins with 30 assists and six kills. Jenna Keppel added seven kills to go with five aces. Arrica Bley chipped in 11 kills in the victory.
Bridget Yaw had four aces, one kill and a block for Sherman in the loss. Katrina Christmas added three kills and four blocks.
North Collins will play the winner of No. 3 Ellicottville and No. 14 Clymer on Tuesday. The match will be held at the home court of the higher seed.

BUFFALO - Jordan Brooks recorded seven kills and two blocks as the No. 12 Silver Creek Black Knights pulled off an upset with a sweep of No. 5 Olmsted during Friday's Section 6 Class C girls high school volleyball playoffs.
The scores were 25-12, 25-14, 25-13.
Ally Harford contributed with six aces and Cora Utegg had eight assists for the winners.
"It was definitely good to go to Olmsted and get through the first round," Silver Creek coach Bridget Case said. "Now we prepare for (No. 4) Portville. It will be a tough, tough match."
That match will take place Tuesday at Portville.

FALCONER - Third-seeded Falconer (10-6) will be moving on to the Section 6 Class C quarterfinals next week after outlasting No. 19 Gowanda in prequarterfinal volleyball action on Friday, posting a 3-1 win with games of 25-13, 25-15, 23-25 and 25-18.
For the Lady Golden Falcons, Alyssa Brooks collected 16 kills, Kaylei Russell added 11 aces and five kills, and Kalynn Swanson had 28 assists and nine aces.
Falconer will play the winner of Fredonia-Wilson match.
