Warren McPherson of Fredonia has had the opportunity to help over 500 people in his life. Mr. McPherson has been able to touch so many people by simply being a volunteer blood donor with the American Red Cross.
"My first donation was December 9, 1957," recalls Warren. When his local Dunkirk Kiwanis Club started actively sponsoring American Red Cross blood drives in 1976, he became a regular donor. He has now reached 21 gallons total in blood donations.
"We appreciate all of our long term donors," stated Bill Tucker, American Red Cross of Southwestern New York executive director. Mr. Tucker explained that for each unit of blood donated, up to three people can be helped. "This makes the possibility of Mr. McPherson helping over 500 people through his voluntary donations."
"I'm proud to be a blood donor and of my record in doing so," added McPherson.
