I have found it very interesting reading "Shipwrecks on Lake Erie."
My grandparents, John and Alice Bolling, lived on the northwest side of Route 5 by Canadaway Creek from the late 1800s to 1926. In 1893, when the Dean Richmond sank, Gramma Alice Bolling made diapers for my Uncle Ralph Bolling from the washed-up flour sacks, I remember my mother, Florence Bolling Burdick, telling me. Also, Grampa John Bolling found many things on the shore, from wood to foreign coins, from the War of 1812, which was partly fought at the mouth of Canadaway Creek.
