Jerry Boltz is a candidate for re-election to the Portland Town Board, endorsed by the Democratic Party.
Boltz lives with his wife, Margie, on Onthank Road in Portland on their farm, which has been in his family for more than 150 years. They own and operate the farm and are members of the National Grape Co-Operative Association. Boltz serves on the Grape Advisory Board.
The Boltzes have two sons, Michael and Christopher.
Boltz is a graduate of Brocton Central School and a Hall of Fame member at BCS. He served in the United States Army from 1967-1969. He worked for FairPoint Communications (Chautauqua and Erie Telephone) in Westfield, and recently retired after 44 years of dedicated service to the community.
Boltz considers himself a proven leader, committed to serving the people of Portland for the past 24 years as councilman, Portland Fire Department chief, fire commissioner and currently president of the fire department. He is a Red Cross instructor and a member of the emergency squad (EMT).
Boltz is a lifetime member of the Southwestern Firemen's Association, and currently serves as the president and sexton of The Portland Evergreen Cemetery Association. Additionally, he is a member of the Jamestown Consistory, the Fredonia Beaver Club and the John W. Dill Post 434 in Brocton, where he served as Post Commander and past Legion board member.
Boltz will continue to be available to the residents of the town, listening to their concerns and working hard to resolve any issues or concerns. He has the experience and looks forward to working with the town board and representing his community and serving the citizens of the town of Portland.
