My daughter just purchased a house on Howard Avenue and the situation there is appalling. The road is caving in, and if my grandfather knew this, he would be rolling over in his grave, because he owned half the property on the north side of said avenue. If it can't be fixed, at least try something.
Also to save the wooden Indian, just get a large enough vat and fill it full of linseed oil. This will not disturb the color of the wood and it will save it. Just ask any good carpenter.
Just thought I would pass this along.
Reed's water work praised
On Nov. 8, I stood with Congressman Tom Reed and other local officials to discuss the Water Resources Reform and Development Act. This act, passed through the House of Representatives thanks to Congressman Reed's leadership, authorizes the Army Corps of Engineers to make waterway improvements while saving taxpayer dollars.
The bill is critical to us here in Chautauqua County and will have a direct and positive impact on as we continue to push for dredging in Dunkirk Harbor, Barcelona Harbor and Cattaraugus Creek. I would like to publicly applaud Congressman Reed for leading this effort and recognizing the importance of the waterways to our local economy.
I have worked directly with Mr. Reed and his staff to address this critically important issue. Their commitment to this issue is ongoing. His work is making a difference for us in Chautauqua County.
Village police were big help
We would like to thank the Fredonia police for their extraordinary help in the recent water emergency at our home.
They went well beyond their call of duty.
