The question was asked, "Where has everyone been?" at a Cassadaga Valley Central School Board meeting last week. There is not much of a reason to go to the school board meetings when everything of importance is done in executive session.
We, the taxpayers, pay the bills, but are unable to find out who is working or not working. We do not know who is getting paid or not paid.
Why would the public go to the meetings to hear, "We will take that up in executive session?" I encourage the school board to read the laws on executive session. They will find that the vast majority are illegal.
We elect the board to follow our wishes, not hide everything in executive sessions. When money is being spent, the taxpayers have a right to know where it is going. We also have a right to know what the school employees are doing - good or bad.
