Milton L. Hilliker, 84, of Irving, NY passed away Tuesday (Dec. 10, 2013) at his daughter's home in Silver Creek after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on March 19, 1929 in Irving, NY, the son of the late Herbert and Lucy (Merrill) Hilliker.
Milton was born and raised on Buffalo Road in Irving. He took pride in owning and operating his farm, affectionately known as the "Hilliker Farm." Over the years he had produced grapes, hay, corn and other crops as well as raising cattle and livestock. Some of Milton's passions over the years were coon and fox hunting and taking rides in the country.
Milton was a member of the Growers Co-operative in Westfield, NY, and a past member of the Gowanda Moose Lodge.
Surviving are his two daughters, Vicki (Thomas) Rocque of Silver Creek and Sandra (David) Rubeck of Angola; one son, Randy (Cathy) Hilliker of Irving; a sister, Gloria Hilliker; grandchildren Kaitlyn and Ryan Rocque, David and Todd Rubeck, Tammy Morrison, Bradley and Randy (Jr.) Hilliker; along with seven great-grandchildren and several sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Veronica "Bea" (Ham) Hilliker, whom he married Nov. 11, 1950; two brothers, Raymond and Arnold Hilliker; a sister, Esther Reynolds; an infant son, Randy Milton Hilliker; and a granddaughter, Tracy Ann Hillik-er.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, Dec. 13, at 10:30 a.m. from the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel, 160 Central Ave., Silver Creek. The service will be officiated by Pastor Michael Leamon of the Christ Chapel Wesleyan Church. Interment will be in Smith's Mill Cemetery. The family will be present at the funeral chapel from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 12.
