Sally D. Smith, 61, of Pine Street, Dunkirk, NY, formerly of Stockton, NY passed away Wednesday (December 11, 2013) at the Hamot Medical Center in Erie, PA. with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Westfield, NY on December 4, 1952, the daughter of Helen (Houser) Mekus of Dunkirk and the late Paul Best.
Sally was a resident of Stockton for 20 years and had resided in Dunkirk for the past nine years. She had worked as a hotel manager for the Best Western/ Comfort Inn of Dunkirk, NY.

Sally enjoyed photography, going to church and praying and was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Stockton Community Church.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Stanley V. Smith, Jr. whom she married on November 28, 1970; her daughter, Tammy (Donald) TeCulver of Stockton New York; her son, Stanley V. Smith III of Dunkirk, NY; her grandchildren, Chelsey Boardman, Shannon Boardman and Quinton Smith, all of Stockton, NY; her sisters & brother, Judy Gibbs of Chautauqua, NY, William Best of Gerry, NY, Pauletta Abbey of Westfield, NY, Marlene Post of Mayville, NY, Cindy Raynor of Florida and Trudy Gambino of Mayville, N.Y. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Besides her father, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Milton D. Mekus.
Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 11 o'clock from the Stockton Community Church. The Rev. Richard Hamilton will officiate. Interment will be in the Stockton Greenwood Cemetery. Friends are invited to call at the Morse Funeral Home, 51 Highland Avenue, Brocton, NY from 7-9 p.m. Saturday and from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday.
