Gowanda students volunteer for Salvation Army bell ringing

December 14, 2013
The OBSERVER

Gowanda Middle School students are donating their time to help out the Salvation Army by volunteering all on their own. Damen MacLeod, Nick Siragusa and Ryan Gernatt, all in eighth grade, spent numerous hours ringing the famous Salvation Army bell. Damen came up with the idea and was soon joined by the other two young men. A resident had called School Resource Officer Jen Alessi and informed her of the boys' charitable efforts. "Catching" them in the act, Officer Alessi was so proud of their kind hearts and genuine goodness. Pictured are Damen and Nick.
