The Pine Valley Lady Panthers (3-1, 0-0) used a 25-4 third quarter run to take down the Dunkirk Lady Marauders, 53-26, Monday in non-league girls high school basketball action.
Pine Valley's Alex Bentham nearly single-handedly beat the home team herself as she poured in a game-high 22 points and added five steals for the winners.
After the two teams battled to a 6-all tie after the opening eight minutes, the Lady Panthers took a slim 15-11 halftime advantage.

In the third quarter, it was all Pine Valley as it opened up a 40-19 lead.
"We struggled breaking their press," Dunkirk coach Sarah Burnett said. "When we broke it correctly, we got great shots. They came out to play in the second half and we didn't. We didn't execute offensively or defensively."
Kayla Mansfield and Laurel Killock combined for 16 rebounds while Aaren Waterman had six of her own rebounds. Jessie Wilcox had seven steals while Bentham had five.
For Dunkirk, Sarah Hanlon had seven points and five rebounds while Natasha Colon had six points and three steals.
The Lady Marauders return to action Jan. 2 when they host Frewsburg in a makeup game.
