STAR applications must be filed by Dec. 31

December 25, 2013
The OBSERVER

Assemblyman Andy Goodell (R-Jamestown) is again reminding local homeowners to complete the reapplication process to continue receiving their STAR Property Tax Exemption. Re-registration for the program, which saves the average New York homeowner $700 per year, is required before the end of the year, and many local homeowners still have not renewed their exemption. The deadline to apply to continue receiving the exemption on this year's tax bill is Dec. 31.
