IRVING - Bruce M. Dean, 51, of Irving, NY, passed away Friday evening, Dec. 27, 2013 at his home, with his loving family by his side.
Bruce was born May 25, 1962 in Jamestown, NY, the son of the late Willard and Ada (Duck) Dean.
He was a graduate of Jamestown High School in 1980. He married Kathleen Kittell on June 3, 1989 at St. John's Church of Christ in Dunkirk, NY.
Bruce worked as a salesman for Jamestown Beverage, and recently he was employed by PepsiCo in Jamestown as a warehouse supervisor.
He loved the outdoors, was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed camping, NASCAR and gardening. He had a pumpkin patch he shared with his grandchildren. The New York Yankees and Kansas City Chiefs were his favorite sports teams.
Bruce was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel R.C. Church in Silver Creek, the Irving Fire Department (22 years), where he served as Fire Commissioner for over 15 years, and was a former member of the First Ward Falcon Club and the Dom Polski Club, both in Dunkirk, NY.
He is survived by his mother, Ada Paine of Jamestown; his wife of 24 years, Kathleen (Kittell) Dean; a son, USAF Staff Sgt. Alexander (Regina) Dean, who is stationed in Portugal; a daughter, Kiah Grace Dean of Irving; two stepsons, Kory (Mariah) Irish of Irving and Justin Irish of Perrysburg, NY; five grandchildren, Dayenara, Wyatt, Garrett and Declan Irish and Patrick Rosario-Irish; and a brother, Wayne "Skip" (Debbie) Dean of Jamestown. Bruce is also survived by two sisters, Debora Ann (Sean) Eagan of Jamestown and Naomi (Barry) Rudolph of Jamestown, two special, lifelong friends, David Brady and Carl Reale, both of Jamestown, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willard Dean, a stepfather, Edwin Paine, and a stepbrother, Roger Paine.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 165 Central Ave., Silver Creek, NY (everybody meet at the church). Fr. Daniel Fiebelkorn will be celebrant. Burial will be private.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. today in the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel, 160 Central Ave., Silver Creek.
