COLLINS - Ronald G. DeVore, age 72, of Route 39, Collins, passed away at home on Saturday, De-cember 28, 2013, sur-rounded by family.
He was born February 17, 1941 in Grove City, Pa., the son of the late Grant and Agnes (Fuchs) DeVore.
Ronald married the form-er Beverly Hallock on June 1, 1991 in Langford. Bev survives. Ronald is also sur-vived by his son Daniel (Barb) DeVore of Ashville and his daughter Cheryl (Warren) Farner of Collins; stepchildren Walter (Eun-ice Watson) Nary of Wells-ville and David Drury of Belfast; grandchildren Cas-sie, Andy, Ryan, Kristina, Kelsey and Cordel; and great-grandchildren Logan DeVore and Kaylin Farner. Ronald was the brother of James (Sylvia) DeVore of Jane Lew, W.V. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Ron was preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce (Lane) DeVore.
A 35-year New York State employee, Ron worked for the Department of Corrections. He retired in 1995 from Collins Correc-tional Facility, where he was a Food Administrator. After his retirement, he worked as a Security Guard for the West Valley Nuclear Plant. Prior to his State employment, he worked for Buckland's Sur-veying for nearly 20 years.
Ronald was a Free and Accepted Mason. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Cherry Creek and was also a member of the Collins Friends Meeting Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially bow hunting and fly fishing. He taught fly fishing classes for many years at Griffith Institute in Springville and tied his own flies.
