Many members of the community as well as family and friends of the late Sally Smith have joined together with the Nickel Plate Depot at 131 Central Ave. in Brocton to host a Spaghetti Dinner Memorial Benefit on Sunday, Jan. 12 from noon to 6 p.m. All proceeds will go Smith's family to help defray the costs of medical treatment, chemotherapy, radiation and home health care.
The benefit will consist of a spaghetti dinner, silent auction, 50/50's and a raffle for a 40-inch TV. The Highlife Band and several other popular bands from the local area will provide entertainment.
Smith, a Dunkirk resident who lost her battle with lung and bone cancer on Dec. 11, was originally diagnosed in October 2013. She had two surgeries to remove cancerous tumors from her spine to prevent paralysis.
Tickets will be pre-sold or are available at the door. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children under 10.
