Information about pool activities at Dunkirk High School pool has been announced for the winter session.
Evening Swim will be held Monday and Wednesday from 6:30 -7:30 p.m. from Jan. 6 through Feb. 12. Those interested can pay $20 for the 11 sessions or $2 per session.
Deep Water Aquasize will be held Monday and Wednesday from 6:30-7:30p.m. from Jan. 6 - Feb. 12. The cost for 11 sessions is $40 or $4 per sessions
Aquasize is scheduled on Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on Jan. 9, 14, 23, and 28 and Feb. 4, 6, 11, and 13. On Jan. 7, 16, 21, and 30, the time is 7:30-8:30 p.m. The cost is $40 for all 12 sessions or $4 for each individual session.
Morning Swim is scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30-7:30 a.m. from Jan. 7 through Feb. 13. The fee is $20 for all the sessions or $2 for each session.
A Red Cross Recertification Course for Lifeguards will be offered on Saturday Jan. 19 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The cost is $27 and enrollment is capped at 10 participants. Contact WSmock@Dunkirk.wnyric.org to register.
Registration for the children's learn to swim program will be conducted on Jan. 25. in the pool lobby. Dunkirk residents should register from noon to 1:30 p.m. and non-residents from 1:30-3 p.m. Dunkirk residents pay $30 for the first child, $25 for the second and $20 for additional children. Non-residents pay $35 for the first child, $30 for the second and $25 for additional children. All registrations must be paid in cash - no checks or credit cards are taken.
Classes are for the following age groups: Guppies (beginners), Minnows, Fish, Sharks and Dolphins (advanced). If there is enough interest, an infant /parent class and a beginning diving class will be offered.
The swimming classes will take place on Saturday mornings, in two sessions, beginning on Feb. 1 and ending on April 5. Session 1 will run 9-9:45 a.m. and will include Guppies, Minnows, Fish, Sharks and Dolphins. Session 2 will run from 10-10:45 a.m. and will include the following classes: infant/parent (if there is enough interest), Guppies, Minnows, Fish and Flying Fish (diving if there is enough interest).
All classes will be filled on a first-come first-served basis. During classes, all parents are asked to stay in the balcony area to avoid confusion on the pool deck. No food or drinks are allowed in the pool or balcony area.
