Ronney L. Swan, 74 of 8653 Sherman Findley Lake Road, Sherman, passed away January 8, 2014 at his home.
He was born July 4, 1939 in Erie, Pa., the son of the late Louis and Loretta Lord Swan.
Ronney was a master craftsman, having owned Chautauqua Millworks, in Jamestown, NY, was quite well known in the area for his architectural millwork and worked at several furniture factories in Jamestown. He was always a farmer at heart. He enjoyed working on the farm, baling hay, plowing, and general field work. Ronney was known for his good sense of humor. He loved Great Danes, and will be sadly missed by Dora his Great Dane.

Ronney is survived by his wife Jackie Swan, of Sherman, whom he was married to for 30 years. Daughters Rhonda Nickerson and Terri Gabriel, both of Sherman, NY. Son Steven (Annette) Swan of Sherman, NY. Stepson Steven (Danielle) Keith of Sherman, NY. Stepdaughter Kristen Keith of Fredonia, NY. 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren. Brother Larry (Barb) Swan, Jamestown, NY. Several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Rita Arisman.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday January 11, 2014 at the First Baptist Church Sher-man, with the Rev. Paul Sears, pastor of the church officiating. Burial will be in Fluvanna Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. today at the Spitzer Funeral Home, 135 Miller St., Sherman, NY.
