Leo J. Nocek Jr., 70, of Sheridan died Wednesday (Jan. 8, 2014) at home.
He was born May 31, 1943 in Dunkirk, the son of the late Leo J. Sr. and Veronica (Binko) Nocek.
A lifelong Sheridan resident, Mr. Nocek was a self-employed farmer. He was a graduate of Dunkirk High School, Class of 1960, and also attended Kansas State University.

He had a special interest in agricultural engineering.
Survivors include one brother, David P. (Julie) Nocek of Greenwich, Conn.; three sisters, Marie (Robert) Frankel of Rochester, Diane (Steven) Hill of Edmonds, Wash., and Cynthia (Drew) Liano-poulos of Salem, Ore.; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Allen Nocek.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home. The Rev. Raymond Donohue will officiate. Calling hours will be held Saturday two hours prior to the service from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
