Robert "Gary" Davis, 64, of Fredonia died Monday morning (Jan. 6, 2014) at home.
He was born Aug. 17, 1949 in Cuba, NY, the son of the late Robert B. and Eugenia (Clark) Davis.
Affectionately known as "Bucket," Mr. Davis had been employed as a highway equipment operator at Fredonia State University.
His memberships included Sons of the American Legion Post 1280 in Cassadaga, life member and past officer of the Fredonia Beaver Club, and the Northern Chautauqua Conservation Club.
An avid New York Yankees fan, Mr. Davis enjoyed golf, hunting and fishing. He loved his yellow Mustang and attending classic car shows. He had a passion for animals, especially his canine friend, Mikey. Gary was a very caring person when it came to his friends.
Survivors include a daughter, Tara Davis-Bass of Fredonia; and a sister, Frances (Kenneth) Gossage of Fairfax, Va.
Memorial services will be held Sunday afternoon February 23, 2014 at 2 o'clock in the Fredonia Beaver Club hall. James Dispense will officiate. Arrangements are by the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home.
