BROCTON - Firefighters from several companies battled a barn fire early Saturday morning on Route 380. Brocton Fire Department responded to the scene shortly before 8 a.m. to find the barn fully involved.
"Upon arrival the barn, approximately 200 feet from the house, was fully involved," James Rizzo, first assistant chief for Brocton Fire, said.
The house, just north of the College Lodge and across from Colt Road Extension, did not sustain any damage and livestock residing in the barn were rescued by the family. A chicken did perish in the fire however.
