BUFFALO - The Fredonia Hillbillies (11-3, 7-0) used an uptempo offense Thursday to take down Bennett (4-9), 72-47, in non-league boys high school basketball action.
Dylan Meyer led the way with 18 points and five rebounds. John Piper added 14 points while Pat Moore and Nick Johnston combined for 23 points.
"We played good defense early on and pushed the ball really well," Fredonia coach Greg Lauer said. "They had trouble keeping up at times."
Also aiding Fredonia was the fact it drained nine 3-pointers, including seven in the first half.
Eric Jabot, Moore, Piper and Meyer each had two 3-pointers in the game.
"It was nice to see and it helped us build a lead early on," Lauer noted, as his team took a 20-10 lead after the first quarter and a 39-21 halftime lead.
The Hillbillies went on to outscore the home team, 33-26, in the second half for the win.
Nick Johnston added 15 assists while Cam Voss had nine rebounds and five blocks for the Hillbillies.
