Helen M. Binko, 85, of Fredonia, died Tuesday morning, February 4, 2014, at the Chautauqua County Home.
She was born October 28, 1928, in Wilkson, West Virginia, daughter of the late Steve and Katherine (Karepka) Drozell.
Mrs. Binko was a graduate of Logan High School in West Virginia and the Collegiate Secretarial Institute in New York City.
She was employed as an office manager at Niagara Mohawk Power Company, retiring in 1990 after more than 30 years of service.
Her memberships included St. Joseph R. C. Church and the Fredonia Legion Post #59 Auxiliary.
Helen enjoyed traveling and visited many places, including Europe. She also took several cruises.
Surviving are her husband of 49 years, Anthony Binko, whom she married June 20, 1964; a sister, Victoria Bayless of Logan, West Virginia; along with many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Stanley, Joseph, Stephen Drozell and sisters Josephine Drozell and Alice Connlley.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., 56 East Doughty Street in Dunkirk on Friday from 4-7 PM. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10 o'clock in St. Joseph R. C. Church. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
