BROCTON - The Westfield Lady Wolverines had three players score in double digits for a 55-44 victory over Brocton (4-9, 2-8) on the Lady Bulldogs' Senior Night.
Rachel Allen led the way with 12 points while Carson Hauser added 11 and Brenna Culbreth charted 10. Abigail Jopek had six rebounds while Allen added six steals and as many assists.
The Lady Wolverines took a 16-11 lead into the second quarter before going on a 14-6 run to take a 30-17 halftime lead. In the second half, Brocton outscored the visitors, 27-25, but could not overcome the first-half deficit.
Jess Putcher led the way for Brocton with 15 points while Jess Merle had 10 points in defeat. Morgan Bennett added seven rebounds and Kenya Stanton pulled down eight boards for Brocton.
Before the game, Brocton recognized its eight seniors: Bennett, Jess Delcamp, Kelsey Gerholdt, Brooke Kuschel, Abby Malcolm, Monica Pena, Putcher and Karina Stanton.
"They've been on varsity at least a couple years, some of them five years," Purcell said. "They've been an outstanding group of girls to work with. They've learned not to quit. They've learned a lot of life lessons through playing basketball, especially when things don't work out the way you hope."
Brocton travels to Panama on Monday.
Clymer 55, Cassadaga Valley 31
CASSADAGA VALLEY - The Clymer Lady Pirates (8-2, 10-5) had no trouble on the road as they finished off Cassadaga Valley (1-10, 1-15) 55-31 Thursday night.
Kayla Gilkenson was the high scorer for Clymer with 11 points while also chipping in five steals in the win.
Breanna Summers also chipped in 11 points while Marissa Trisket picked up seven boards.
Ashley Repine was the bright spot for Cassadaga Valley with seven boards and nine points.
Chautauqua Lake 61, Sherman 35
SHERMAN - The Chautauqua Lake Lady Thunderbirds (10-0, 14-1) will remain atop CCAA West II girls basketball after finishing off Sherman (6-4, 10-6) 61-35.
Ashton Albanesius finished the night with a double-double for Chautauqua Lake with 13 points and 11 rebounds while Jenna Einink added 23 points on three treys.
Ryleigh Hawkins also picked up six boards and five assists in the win.
Captain Bridget Yaw led the way for the Lady Wildcats with 12 points.
CCAA East II
Pine Valley 63, Ellicottville 41
ELLICOTTVILLE - The Pine Valley Lady Panthers prevailed, 63-41, over host Ellicottville in East Division 2 basketball on Thursday night.
Alex Bentham poured in 20 points, Kayla Mansfield added 12 points and eight boards, Kaleigh Brunswick chipped in nine assists and five steals.
Pine Valley led 20-10 after the first quarter and expanded the margin to 39-26 at intermission.
Marrissa Hamilton was the bright spot for the Eagles with 16 points and nine rebounds.
