Love will be in the air this weekend throughout the village of South Dayton. The village's Valentine's Day celebration will be held Saturday, Feb. 8. During this event various businesses have specials throughout the day.
Zollinger's Restaurant will have a beef on weck and potato salad as a lunch special; Charlie and Debbie's County Store will feature a breakfast special; and Capozzi's Too will have 10 percent off a lunch for two. As a fundraiser, all business listed, in addition to the Mustardseed and Cattaraugus County Bank, will be selling hearts for $1. Proceeds will benefit the new community park and playground.
For the children, holiday-themed crafts will be at the South Dayton Library from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The South Dayton Firebells will host a spaghetti dinner and a movie from 3 to 6 p.m. at the fire hall, 34 Maple St. Tickets at the door will be $8.50 for adults or $6.50 for seniors or children under 12. Pre-sale tickets are available from any South Dayton Fire Belles member and are discounted $0.50. The South Dayton Community Organization will be selling 50/50 raffle tickets and holding a drawing.
