The Chautauqua Center (Family Medical Practice and Wellness Center) and The Resource Center Dental Services Office presents the "Give Kids A Smile" Event - February is National Children's Dental Health Month.
If you have a baby or toddler you may have questions about thumb sucking, your child's first dental visit or how and when to clean your child's teeth, then "Give Kids A Smile" invites you to attend a free event that will be held on Friday, Feb. 28 from noon to 4 p.m. at The Chautauqua Center, 319 Central Ave., Dunkirk.
During the event, caregivers will learn when children should begin dental visits, the importance of regular dental examinations, ways to prevent early childhood cavities, when to expect changes from primary to permanent teeth, proper brushing and flossing techniques, choosing the right mouth protector for active children, and teaching children to say no to tobacco.
"Children's teeth are meant to last a lifetime, and a healthy smile is important to a child's self-esteem. With proper care, a balanced diet and regular dental visit, their teeth can remain healthy and strong," said Rebecca Ruiz, outreach coordinator at The Chautauqua Center.
