The Northwest Varsity Girls indoor soccer team traveled to SUNY Brockport on Feb. 9, and emerged the tournament Champions. The girls were seeded second going into the playoffs after tying Arkport 0-0, defeating a team from York 4-0, and the Elba U-15 team, 4-0. They defeated the Elba U-17 girls 2-0 in the semi-finals, before coming from behind to defeat the Byron-Bergen U-17 girls, 2-1 in the finals. Pictured are members of the team. Miceli's 6, Monnies 4 - Robert Barnett had five goals in Miceli's win while teammate Mark Darling added the other.
Goals for Monnies were scored by Steve Skryzpek (two), Matt Ginley and Eric Tarnowski.
First Ward Falcons 7, Nickle Plate Depot 7 - Kris Irwin and Tim Wdowiasz had hat tricks for the First Ward Falcon Club, with Steve Keyser getting the other goal.
Nickle Plate was led by Jake Harp's five goals while Justin Kelsey and Brad Perkins each scored a goal.
Vet's Club 6, Kosciuszko Club 3 - Rob Bajdas and Justin Giles scored two goals each in the Vet's Club win while Joe Jagoda and Brian Wojcinski each added a goal.
For the Kosciuszko Club, Matt Nickle scored twice and Matt Dorler once in the loss.
Miceli's 7, Couglan's Pub 3 - Robert Barnett scored the hat trick for the winners while teammates Matt Polvino, Matt Miceli, Nick Stott and Adam Long also scored.
For Coughlan's Pub, Matt Wronski scored twice and John Forbes once.
Kosciuszko Club 8, Nickle Plate Depot 0 - Matt Dorler had three goals in the Dog House win while Dan Nickle and Derrick Backert each scored twice. Ben Nickle chipped in a goal in the win as well.
CCHA C League Game
EBC 3, Wicked Glen 2 - Rick Simon, Ryan Simon and Chris Irwin scored for EBC while assists went to Mike Hallmark, Marty Willow and Ryan Simon. Gloria Andolina picked up the win in net.
Kerry Meyer and Mike Brooks scored for Wicked Glen, with an assist going to Eric Williams. Nate Williams was the losing goalie.
HHSC Attends NISL Meet
at Frontier High School
On Saturday Feb. 15, the Hammerhead Swim Club had 29 swimmers attend a NISL league meet at Frontier High School. Swimming in his first meet for HHSC was Stephen Keefe. HHSC swimmers recorded four first-place, three second-place, seven third-place and 33 top-ten finishes. There were three new silver times, one new gold time and a total of 41 personal-best times achieved.

NCCYHA Accepting Applications
for Head Bantam Coach
The NCCYHA Steelers announced that they are accepting applications for the position of head coach for the Bantam level.
Interested applicants can submit a letter of interest to Mark Wojcinski, Coaching Coordinator, via email at email@example.com. Deadline for applications are Monday, March 3, and interviews for qualified candidates will take place on Wednesday, March 5, or another mutually accepted day and time.
CVCS vs. OTC Boys
Basketball Venue Change
The Section 6 Class C-1 quarterfinal boys basketball game between Cassadaga Valley and OTC Middle College scheduled for Friday, Feb. 21, has been moved from ECC to MST Seneca High School, which is located 101 Hertel Avenue, in Buffalo. The game will begin at 7 p.m.
CLCS Softball Clinic
There will be a softball clinic held at Chautauqua Lake Central School on March 29, from 9 a.m. to noon for all girls ages 8-13.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. To pre-register, access the Chautauqua Lake School website and the form will be in the Virtual Backpack located in the Elementary School section.
The clinic will include fundamental drills involving hitting, fielding (outfield/infield), pitching and catching. Former players in the area, along with the Chautauqua Lake varsity softball players will be the instructors for the morning.
Each participant will receive a T-shirt and a window decal. Cost for the clinic is $20 for one girl and then $15 for each additional family member.

Fredonia Little League Registration
Fredonia Little League will hold registration for baseball and softball on Saturday, Feb. 22 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and Wednesday, Feb. 26 from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Fredonia High School cafeteria.
Registration will be held for the following divisions: boys and girls t-ball, ages 4-6, boys and girls Hathaway League, ages 6-8, Cerrie League baseball, ages 8-9, boys Wright League baseball, ages 10-12, and Senior boys baseball for ages 13-16.
In the softball division, registration will be held for teams in the minor league, ages 7-9, and major league, ages 10-12.
Participants must be a resident of the Fredonia Central School district.
The cost is $50 for t-ball and $75 for all other leagues including softball. There is a cap of $185 per family.
All new and returning players must register and a copy of a birth certificate is required for all new players.
Coaching and umpire applications will also be accepted at the registration session. All coaching applications, accompanied by a copy of a driver's license, must be received by the FLL Board of Directors by March 3 in order to be considered for a coaching position.

Department Baseball Clinic
The Dunkirk Recreation Department will be offering an indoor baseball clinic for youths between ages 6 and 12. The clinic will begin today and run each Wednesday until March 26.
The daily schedule is as follows: ages 6-9 from 5-6:15 p.m. and ages 9-12 from 6:15 to 7:45 p.m.
Clinic fee will be $25 for city residents for the six-week session.
Dunkirk Recreation Department Continues Offering Indoor Soccer
The Dunkirk Youth and Recreation Department will continue to offer an indoor soccer program for children in grades K-5 at the Recreation Center. Session 2 will begin on Feb. 24 and runs through March 24.
Grades K-2 are on Monday from 4 to 5 p.m. and grades 3-5 are also on Monday from 5-6:30 p.m.
