BUFFALO - Women's 3-meter springboard and men's 1-meter diving preliminaries were held Wednesday afternnon on the first day of the SUNYAC Swimming & Diving championship meet in the Burt Flickinger Center.
In the women's 3-meter, Fredonia State seniors Ashley Keller, Katelyn Haley and Breena Cogliandro posted the top three voluntary scores, respectively, while junior Heather Colby was fifth-best. All four advanced to finals Thursday night along with four other women.
Blue Devil freshman Samantha Kowalewski had the ninth-best score Wednesday and will be the top seed in the consolation finals Thursday afternoon.

Day 1 of the SUNYAC Swimming & Diving championship Wednesday included women's 3-meter springboard diving.
In the men's 1-meter, freshman Jeff Matter is in second place with a voluntary score of 183.95 points - 1.5 points behind Buffalo State's Alec Fleet of Buffalo State with a score of 183.95 points. Blue Devil sophomore Rafael Santiago is in fourth at 181.95, to join the eight-man final tonight.
Two Fredonia freshmen, Arron Carlson and Jacob Storms, stood ninth and 10th after preliminariess in order to advance to consolational finals this afternoon.
