CASSADAGA - Cub Scout Pack 219 in Cassadaga recently held its annual Pinewood Derby contest at the American Legion.
The cub scout boys had to carve a block of wood into a car, add wheels, put weights on it, paint it and decorate it.
Each boy's car raced down the track a total of four times. A timer was used to determine the speed. A total of 29 boys participated.
A total of 29 boys participated in Pack 219’s Pinewood Derby.

The top four boys received trophies. Each boy who came in fifth to 10th place received a medal. The rest of the boys were awarded participation ribbons.
First place was Easton Berwick. Second place was Colden Berwick. Third place was Chase Pierce. Fourth Place was Hunter Johnson.
After the boys raced, siblings and parents were permitted to enter their own pinewood derby cars to race.
Following the races, pizza, drinks and snacks were served. Pack 219 would like to thank ShurFine Pizza for donating four sheet pizzas.
