Evelyn M. Lanski, 76, of Dunkirk, died Saturday evening, March 8, 2014, at home.
She was born April 6, 1937 in Dunkirk, the daughter of the late Leo and Helen (Wesolowski) Voss.
She was a past employee of the former Twin Fair Department Store and former Hills Department Store in Dunkirk. Her memberships included Blessed Mary Angela Parish Church of St. Hyacinth.
Surviving is her husband of 58 years William J. Lanski Sr., whom she married August 20, 1955; their children William J. (Carol) Lanski Jr. of Dunkirk, Kathleen (Ken) George of Ariz., Martin Lanski of Dunkirk and Christopher (Louise) Lanski of Fredonia; grandchildren William (Melanie) Lanski III, Jennifer Lanski, Amanda (Ernie) Heiser, Aaron George, Matthew (Christy) George, Lydia and Claire Lanski; great-grandchildren Zachary, Jacob Skinner, William IV, Joshua Lanski and James Heiser; sisters Dolores Lack, Rita Daniels and Marie Rettig, all of Dunkirk; brother James Voss of Ill.; and many nieces and nephews also surviving.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by brothers Chester and Walter Voss and sisters Louise Rasmus and Phyllis Balzer.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., 56 E. Doughty St. in Dunkirk, today from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock in Blessed Mary Angela Parish Church of St. Hyacinth. Interment will be in St. Hyacinth's Cemetery.
