Joyce C. Westling, 77, of Dunkirk passed away peacefully the morning of March 10, 2014 at home surrounded by her family.
She was born June 6, 1936 in Dunkirk, the daughter of the late Joseph and Viola (Baumgartner) Szczerbacki. Joyce was a 1954 Dunkirk High School graduate. She was employed at Ann's News and later as a Vending Hostess for Interstate United at M. Wile & Co. and Ralston Purina. She enjoyed reading and gardening. A woman of strong faith, Joyce was devoted to her family and especially her grandchildren, who were the loves of her life. Kind and compassionate, she was also precious and special in
the eyes of her many nieces and nephews. She is survived by five children, Dr. Sheryl Bushman of New York City, NY, Richard (Judith) Westling and Jeffrey (Deborah) Westling, both of Dunkirk, NY, Joseph (Betty Jo) Westling of South Dayton, NY and

Barbara (Nicholas) Noce of Rochester, NY. Twelve grandchildren, Lorenza (Joseph) Stolle, Amanda, Bryan, Brett, Nathan, Jacob,
Bradley Westling, Thomas Noce, Joseph, Dominick, Cassie Tingue, Robert Chadwick; three great-grandchildren, Isabella, Matthew and Ryan Stolle; and many nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Jo Westling; two brothers, Robert and William Szczerbacki; two brothers, Robert and William Szczerbacki; and one sister, Janet Ciepiela. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 9:15 from the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 o'clock in Holy Trinity Church. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from
4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Memori-als may be made to a charity of one's choice.
