Thomas Makris, age 68, of Dunkirk, NY died Monday, March 10, 2014 at Buffalo General Hospital. He was born June 22, 1945 in Samos, Greece.
For most of his adult life, Tommy lived in the New York City area. He was a cook for 35 years at the Star Diner in White Plains, NY before moving to the Dunkirk-Fredonia region.
He is survived by his sister, Eir'ni Makris, of Samos, Greece; four grandchildren: Avilene, Nayely, Noe, and David Flores of Dunkirk, NY, and many great-grandchildren. Thomas was also a friend and father figure to Jose and Francisca Perez of Dunkirk, NY.
He was a kind and loving man who always put everyone before himself. He always had a smile everywhere he went that would melt your heart and put a smile on everyone he was around. He enjoyed going fishing with his grandchildren and had fun even if they went home without anything.
Calls may be made Thursday 10 a.m.-11 a.m. at the LARSON-TIMKO Funeral Home, 20 Central Ave., Fredonia, NY, where a funeral service will follow immediately at 11 a.m. Interment will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Fredonia.
