Virginia L. Lyman, 85, of Silver Creek died Monday (March 10, 2014) at the Chautauqua County Home in Dunkirk, NY.
She was born in Silver Creek on May 9, 1928, the daughter of the late George and Grace (Bradley) Cushman.
A lifelong area resident, Virginia graduated from Silver Creek Central School in 1946. She married Richard L. Lyman on May 9, 1947.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed fishing with her husband and watching game shows and sports on TV.
Virginia is survived by a daughter, Patricia (William) Novaro of Silver Creek; a son, Richard (Mary Jo) Lyman of Amherst, NY; three grandchildren, Lori Diehl, John Lyman and Deanna Austin; 7 great grandchildren, Bryan and Brandon Novaro, Josh, Michaela and Casey Austin and Meagan and Philip Lyman; four great-great-grandchildren, twins Aiden and Cayden, Skyler and Matthew Novaro; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Virginia was predeceased by her loving husband of 43 years, Richard L. Lyman; and three sisters, Faith Hopkins, Joyce Bonhoff and Ada Infantino.
