Olga L. Korbas, 93, of Dunkirk died Wednesday afternoon (March 12, 2014) at Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk.
She was born Jan. 8, 1921 in Syracuse, NY, the daughter of the late John and Julia (Priest) Ermakovitz.
Mrs. Korbas lived in the area most of her life and was a member of Blessed Mary Angela Parish St. Hyacinth Church.

She had been employed at General Electric in Syracuse and also was a crossing guard at School No. 7, retiring after 25 years of service.
Survivors include one daughter, Sandra (James) Stoyle of Dunkirk; one son, Ronald (Renee) Korbas of Sherrills Ford, NC; one sister, Emily Landers of North Syracuse; four grandchildren, Shawn Stoyle, Scott Stoyle, Stacy Bautista, and Kelly Korbas Anderson; six great grandchildren, Sheamus Stoyle, Shaeleigh Stoyle, Sinead Stoyle, Bella Stoyle, Sophia Bautista, and Gabriella Bautista.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph J. Korbas, who was a Pearl Harbor survivor and died June 2, 1976; one brother, Nicholas Mark; two sisters, Anna Robinson and infant sister Olga Ermakovitz; and granddaughter-in-law, Susan Stoyle.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are by the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home.
