P-Dubs 5, B.J.'s 3 - P-Dubs wrapped up its fifth-straight A League title with its win over B.J.'s in the third and final game of their best-of-three championship series.
Justin Giles and Josh Polak scored a pair of goals each in the win while Jerry Tramuta chipped in the fifth goal. Assists were credited to Polak (two), Erik Tarnowski and Derek Sheridan. A.J. Riforgiat picked up the win in net.
For B.J.'s, Mike Nelson, Tom O'Connor Jr., and Mark Zaffalon scored while an assist was credited to Andy Wheelock. Chris McCracken suffered the loss between the pipes.
CCHA B League
Wicked Glen 9, Pick-UPS 4 - Tony Catuzza's hat trick and two goals each from Sean Strickler, Rob Stickler and Brian Denea helped pace Wicked Glen to the B League title.
Assists were credited to Denea (three), Catuzza (two), Chris Schurr, Lee Andolina and Strickler. Mike Barrett was the winning goalie.
Mike Beyers scored a pair of goals in the loss for Pick-UPS while Nick Michelski and Mike Gzyl also scored. Assists went to Michelski, Josh Mossop, Beyers and Luke Bilowus. Dave Stefaniak was the losing goalie.
CCHA C League
Coughlan's Pub 4, EBC 1 - A pair of goals from Sean Stamer and one each from Bill Anderson and Mark Weimer helped Coughlan's Pub tie its best-of-three championship series with EBC. Assists were credited to Steve Gromala, Lee Andolina and Dan Robinson. Gloria Andolina was between the pipes for the win.
Ryan Simon scored the lone goal for EBC, with an assist going to Chris Irwan. Dave Stefaniak suffered the loss in net.

Cassadaga Valley Youth Soccer
The Cassadaga Valley Youth Soccer program is holding required online registration for all players and coaches. Visit www.cvyouthsoccer.com and click the registration link at the top of the home page. Online registration is currently open and runs through April 30.
Although in-person registration will still take place, all players, coaches and referees are required to register online.
The in-person registration will take place Tuesday, April 22 from 6-8 p.m. at the Sinclairville Library. A $10 late fee will be applied after April 30.
The cost is $35 per player up to three players. Additional children cost $25. Make checks payable to Cassadaga Valley Youth Soccer or pay online with a credit card.
Birth certificates are required for any new player. The certificate can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org. Uniform samples will not be available. Refer to the sizing chart online.
Anyone interested in coaching must complete an online registration and pass the mandatory background check. They must also attend one of the mandatory coaches meetings. Coaches meetings will be held twice to ensure complete participation. The dates and times of those meetings are yet to be announced.
Referees must also complete an online registration and pass the mandatory background check. A mandatory meeting will be announced in the near future.

Cattaraugus County HOF Banquet
The 12th Annual Cattaraugus County Sports Hall of Fame banquet will be held on Saturday, March 29, at the Little Valley Legion beginning at 6 p.m. The event will include a buffet dinner, door prizes, awards ceremony and sports auction. Previous inductees are encouraged to attend and will be introduced.

NAYS Spring Basketball Tournament
North American Youth Sports announced recently that it still has several openings for its annual spring youth basketball tournament.
The Tournament will be held at Randolph Central School from April 25-27, and will feature five brackets for boys teams and five for girls teams. The brackets are as follows: Grades 5-6, Grade 7, Grade 8, Grades 9-10 and Grades 11-12. All grades are based on the grade participants are enrolled in during the current school year.

Southwestern Chapter of CFO Looking
to Hold Annual Classes
The Southwestern Chapter of Certified Football Officials is seeking to hold its annual football officiating class, if there is an interest.
To determine interest, the chapter is asking applicants to contact Greg Moran at 499-5916 or Dave Kolstee at 484-7112 by March 21. The classes will be held at a site and time to be determined if there is enough interest. The fee is $50 including books.
The classes will lead to certification to officiate varsity and sub-varsity games in Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties.

United States Referee Federation WNYSRA/Southern Tier - will be holding a New Entry Class on April 5 and 6 in the Reilly Center on the St. Bonaventure Campus, in Olean. What will I get out of it? You will gain the training to referee recreational games (summer youth) and begin to gain experience with all levels of competition (spring travel). Fredonia Little League Manager/Coach Meeting Rescheduled
The Fredonia Little League manager/coach meeting has been rescheduled for Thursday, March 27, at 7 p.m., in the FHS cafeteria. This meeting is mandatory for all coaches that plan on being on the field this spring.
Player safety, league rules and proper field maintenance will be discussed. In addition, all teams will sign up for their practice times and will receive their game balls.
T-Ball, Hathaway and Minor League softball teams will be selected after the meeting.

Hicker To Be Honored At Cattaraugus County Sports Banquet
George Hicker, a 1964 graduate of Franklinville High School, will be inducted into the Cattaraugus County Sports Hall of Fame on Saturday, March 29. The 12th annual event will be held at the Little Valley Legion beginning at 6 pm.
Hicker was an outstanding basketball player at Franklinville High School. Following the 1962-63 and 1963-64 seasons, the 6-foot, 3-inch sharpshooter was selected to the Buffalo Evening News First Team All-Star Team. He went on to star at Syracuse University, playing three years and averaging 16 points a game. When he graduated in 1968, he was the fourth leading scorer in Syracuse men's basketball history. George was a teammate of NBA Hall of Fame guard Dave Bing and current Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim, the second most victorious coach in NCAA Division I men's basketball history.
Hicker lives in Los Angeles and has been very successful in the real estate industry. He is a philanthropist that remains close to Boeheim and the Syracuse basketball program. Hicker is appreciative of the Hall of Fame honor and has fond memories of his career in Franklinville.
