As we approach the end of March as Red Cross month, I would like to take this opportunity to thank those who helped make our "Savor the Flavor A Taste of Chautauqua County" a success.
There is much that goes on behind the scenes that helps us put on this wonderful event for our community. I am happy to announce that the Red Cross was able to raise more than $7,700 for programs and services right here in Chautauqua County because of this event.
I would once again like to thank the companies that sponsored our event this year. Our platinum sponsors Wegmans and National Grid; gold sponsor Media One Group; silver sponsors Jamestown Macadam Inc., Shults Auto Group, Van Rensselaer and Son Funeral Home and Star Media Group; bronze sponsors Cattaraugus County Bank, Chautauqua Institution, Jamestown Mattress, Kinzua Lake Campground, Southern Chautauqua Federal Credit Union and Jamestown Savings Bank Arena; and patron sponsor Gary's CARSTAR. The Jamestown Insurance Agents supported our event again this year, allowing us to purchase a Galaxy tablet to raffle off. Special thanks to Sally Marsh who provided music for the event.
Our vendors provided wonderful food and beverages this year for those who attended to sample. We thank 3Cs Catering, Athenaeum Hotel at Chautauqua Institution, Cibo Jamestown, Dominos, Elegant Edibles, Farm Fresh Foods Bakery, Horseshoe Inn of Onoville, Johnson Estate Winery, Mariner's Pier Express, Merritt Estate Winery, Rudyz Pizza, The Payne Pantry, Tops Markets, Wegmans and Wing City Grille.
Our volunteers were so important to making our event run smoothly. Thank you to Lew and Diana Meckley, Pete Peterson, JoAnn Anderson, Paul Benware, Lucas Burch and Lisa Yaggie. Whether it was helping with setup, helping to collect Chinese auction items, or volunteering at the event, you assisted in putting on a great event!
Most of all, thank you to everyone who attended our event. The proceeds of "Savor the Flavor A Taste of Chautauqua County" help our friends and neighbors right here in Chautauqua County.
It could be a family displaced by fire in the middle of the night, or a family needing to contact a member of the Armed Forces, or possibly a community group receiving a free Preparedness Education presentation - all of these services and more are provided thanks to you.
