Phyllis J. Hube, 88, of Dunkirk, died unexpectedly Friday morning (March 28, 2014) at home.
She was born Dec. 21, 1925 in Dunkirk, the daughter of the late Henry and Mary (Marquardt) Centner.
A lifelong Dunkirk resident, Mrs. Hube was a graduate of Dunkirk High School.
She had been employed as a TV hostess at Brooks Memorial Hospital for 43 years.
A member of St. John's United Church of Christ, she was an avid Buffalo Bills and Yankees fan. Her interests included swimming, gardening, playing cards and socializing with friends. She also enjoyed traveling to Florida to visit friends.
Survivors include two daughters, Pamela (Robert) Nelson of Hobe Sound, Fla., and Janet (Scott) Peterson of Cincinnati, Ohio; one son, Henry F. (Rachel) Hube Jr. of Dunkirk; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry F. Hube Sr., who died April 9, 2006; one sister, Eileen Kettering; and one brother, Henry Centner.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Willowbrook Park Cemetery.
