Ivan R. Logan, 79, of Irving, NY, passed away Friday, April 4, 2014 at Buffalo General Hospital in Buffalo, NY.
He was born on November 12, 1934 at his home in Indian Hill, the son of the late Richard and Hermie (Pierce) Logan.
Ivan worked at the Peter Cooper Glue Factory in Gowanda, NY, was the maintenance supervisor for the Seneca Nation Bingo Hall, and then retired as the night watchman for the Seneca Hawk and JR's Smoke Shop in Irving, NY.
His memberships included the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Irving, the Cross Roads Coffee Club, Native Elders Group, the Original Seneca Party, and he was of the Beaver Clan.
Ivan's hobbies included playing snow snake, softball, bingo and slot machines. He also was an accomplished Nintendo Wii bowler. He enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ivan is survived by a son, Richard Logan of Gowanda, NY, three daughters, Tracy (Mike) Gonzalez of Dunkirk, Heidi and Suzette Logan of Irving, NY, three grandchildren, Ari Logan, Kayla Jo and James White, four great-grandchildren, Darius and Jeremy Snow, Lorenza and Mabelene Dowdy, and also his beloved companion, Joan Armstrong of Irving.
Friends and relatives may call at the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, Route 438, Irving, NY, all day today, Monday. Visitation will be continuous until the time of services Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at 10 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Seneca Nation Community Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined.
