in the wild at Easter
Rabbits are living, breathing, feeling animals who have special needs and can live 10-plus years. They require fresh vegetables, hay and water daily. Bunnies need to be cared for inside with enough room to run and play.
The sad truth is that 95 percent of the rabbits purchased as gifts at Easter are surrendered at shelters or worse abandoned outside where they cannot survive. Most are dead before their first birthday.
Please do not add to this statistic! Consider a stuffed animal instead or do as I do: Make mine chocolate.
'Bye Bye Birdie'
gets rave reviews
The Fredonia High School production of "Bye Bye Birdie" was great, one of the finest high school musicals I've ever experienced. There was talent on display, not only in the fun, finely choreographed and greatly fleshed-out characters, but the lighting and scenery, the orchestra, overtures, the great voices that dominated, and the joyful dancing, too.
Some things can not be dictated to or measured by Albany, ever, such as the heart and soul of a school body. I'm happy my taxes contribute to pure enjoyment and fun that local kids can pull off with professionalism.
