MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The Chautauqua Lady Thunderbirds fell to a tough North Myrtle Beach team, 17-0, Tuesday in the Grand Strand Softball Classic.
The Lady Thunderbirds didn't help their cause with six errors.
Chautauqua Lake was only able to generate three hits against the North Myrtle Beach squad.
Ryleigh Hawkins, Courtney Hewes, and Ashley Moulton each had a single.
Meanwhile, the Cassadaga Valley Lady Cougars dropped their second game of the tournament, 7-4, to Lewisville, S.C.
Lewisville scored two in the top of the first, but the Lady Cougars answered with three of their own in the bottom of the inning. The score remained 3-2 until Lewisville erupted with three runs in the fourth.
The Lady Cougars were able to add a run in the fifth, but that was it for the Cassadaga Valley offense.
Alyssa Hahn took the loss, allowing four earned runs while striking out three and walking three in five innings of work.
The Lady Cougars' offense was led by Olivia Ruiz's two hits. Brooke Johnson and Hahn each had doubles and Kylee Braymiller stroked a triple in the losing effort.
The Lady Cougars face Penn-Yan, from central New York, today at 10 a.m.
