Tax credit can benefit property owers if municipalities take action

One of the integral parts of the newly-approved state budget is a move to reduce property taxes. The tax credit plan benefits property owners when municipalities remain within the 2 percent tax cap for two years. This is an incentive to create more efficient government. It may be just the kind of incentive municipalities need in New York state to reign in high property taxes.
