BROCTON - The Brocton Bulldogs' (8-6, 6-4) pitchers combined to strikeout 16 in an 11-5 victory over the Panama Panthers in a CCAA West II baseball matchup on Friday.
Daulton Remington earned the win with four innings of work in which he allowed five runs on four hits while striking out seven and walking two.
Steve Krystofiak entered in relief and struck out nine of the 10 batters he faced to seal the victory.
After Panama put up four runs in the top of the first, rain and lightning combined to delay the game for nearly an hour.
Brocton climbed back in the game after the delay with five runs in the first three innings to take a lead which they wouldn't relinquish the rest of the way.
"Dalton was throwing pretty well," Brocton coach Terry Presto said. "He gave up two hits and two runs in the first inning and we weren't giving him much support. After the delay, he got under control, but he got tired in the fourth so I brought in Krystofiak. We started out shaky, but we settled down and the 12 walks helped us."
Ryan Johnson was 3 for 4 at the plate with a double and an RBI for the Bulldogs while Remington added a 2-for-4 performance.
Josh Eddy pitched a complete game in defeat with seven strikeouts and 12 walks.
Rick Eddy was 2 for 4 in the loss with a double and two RBIs.
Brocton plays at Chautauqua Lake on Monday.
