CHARLOTTE - Search crews were combing the woods Friday, looking for a man missing since Wednesday.
Tyler Chase, 25, was last seen at his parents home in the town of Charlotte.
The New York State Forest Rangers, Stockton, Cassadaga, Sinclairville and Gerry fire departments, as well as the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Department were conducting a search near Cook and Rood roads.
Fire volunteers and members of county and state agencies gather to search for Tyler Chase on Friday.
Chautauqua County Sheriff's Department Lieutenant John Crossley spoke to some volunteers Friday.
"Due to the location of the vehicle and some other information we have reason to believe he is close to the home somewhere. We don't know his physical status at this point. I would urge you when you go out there, if you are in one of the assigned groups to make sure if you see anything out of the ordinary to contact your law enforcement officer in charge of your group," he said. "At this point in time we can't rule out a criminal scene so if you see anything don't touch anything and make sure you have your law enforcement officer with you."
Calls made to the Sheriff's Department were not immediately returned.
