JCC Corrections Academy Class visit

May 22, 2014
Observer Today

Students in Jamestown Community College's Corrections Academy class, which is a part of JCC's public safety program, recently previewed an upgraded facility that will welcome students with the start of the fall 2014 semester. Lt. Vincent Gerace, supervisor of the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Department forensic investigation team, led an exercise in a jail cell that has been constructed in the Katharine Jackson Carnahan Center. Other features of the facility include fingerprinting and simulation rooms, fume hood and breath test analysis labs, crime scene analysis space, and classrooms for criminal justice courses and law enforcement and corrections academy training. Information on JCC's criminal justice degree programs and law enforcement technology and corrections officer technology certificate programs can be obtained by calling 800-388-8557, extension 1001.
