President and CEO of the Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce & Executive Director of the Manufacturers Association of the Southern Tier
The Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce congratulates Kevin Sanvidge, who was named this past week to fill a critical slot in the administration of County Executive Vince Horrigan. Sanvidge will hold the dual job of Executive Director of the Industrial Development Agency for Chautauqua County, and Director of the County's Planning and Economic Development Department.
Sanvidge brings strong private sector and community perspective to the position. He is a former Chairman of the Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and for several years chaired the Chamber/MAST Public Policy Committee. He is a member of the board of directors for Lake Shore Savings Bank, chairs its Compensation Committee, and is a member of its Corporate Governance Committee. He was Executive Vice President of Administration for the former Cliffstar Corporation from 1999-2011, and earlier worked at AL Tech Specialty Steel Corporation for 21 years, where he served in various management positions including Vice President of Administration.
Sanvidge is an excellent choice to lead the county's economic development efforts. His business background in Chautauqua County provides him with an important perspective on job creation and business growth. He has also taken an active role in advocating for important business policy issues at the local, state, and national levels.
At the Chamber and MAST we not only enjoyed working with Kevin in his volunteer roles here, but we learned a great deal from him as well. He is both a good listener and a leader. He brings a voice of reason to any discussion, and was always a thoughtful and well-spoken representative for our organizations.
We commend County Executive Horrigan for his choice. Bill Daly, who is retiring from the post at the end of this month, left big shoes to fill. Sanvidge will wear them well.
