The stop lights went out in Dunkirk at the corner of Main and Fourth streets Saturday at around 1 p.m. According to the Dunkirk Police Department, the cause of the light failure is due to an accident, which occurred on Fifth Street involving a tractor trailer. The tractor trailer struck a pole, but no one was injured. The vehicle was towed from the scene. Crews put out a stop sign with tires to hold it down until they can get the light fixed. Drivers are to use caution when traveling near the intersection.
