CASSADAGA - The Cassadaga Library Association held its annual walk around the Cassadaga Lakes Saturday.
The walk event, which has been ongoing since 1990, features a 3-mile walk from the library building around the lakes and concludes at the library. The event is a fundraiser for the village library, which is a branch of the Mary E. Seymour Library of the town of Stockton.
The outside temperature was 65 and the sun was shining brightly, and more than 100 people participated to complete the walk.
Cassadaga Village Historian and library member John Sipos wears his patriotic hat, beginning the annual walk around the Cassadaga Lakes for the Cassadaga Library Association.
Following the walk, prizes, which were donated by local businesses and individuals, were awarded by library member Marcia Murphy.
The president of the library association is Lois Franz, and Kathi Runkle took charge of selling tickets. A lunch was served by the Cassadaga Job Corps, and thanks goes out to the Academy Director Ann Anderson and her staff for helping with this very worthwhile event. Ray Haines of Cassadaga was in charge of traffic control for the event.
