Roman T. Halasinski Jr., 80, of Dunkirk passed away peacefully on Saturday (May 24, 2014) in Margate, Fla., surrounded by his family.
He was born Oct. 28, 1933 in Dunkirk, NY, the son of the late Roman and Helen (Sanecki) Halasinski.
Ray was a graduate of Dunkirk High School, Class of 1951. He served in the U.S. Navy Seabees during the Korean War and re-tired as an engineer and equipment operator after 35 years of active and reserve service. He was a retiree of AL Tech Specialty Steel.

A parishioner of Holy Trinity Church, Ray was a life member of the VFW, First Ward Falcon Club, Seabee Veterans of Ameri-ca, Naval Enlisted Reserve Association, American Legion, MCB19 Chief's Club and USNTC Bainbridge Association.
Survivors include his wife, Joanne (Fedele) Halasinski; daughters Kathleen (Bob) Chott of Manchester, MO and Gina Halasinski (Chuck Levengood) of Pittsford, NY; sons Michael (Joanne) Halasinski of Cheshire, Conn., and Thomas Halasinski of Perth Amboy, NJ; and his nine grandchildren, Rose, Anna and Sam Chott, Elizabeth and Matthew Levengood, Erinn, Cathleen, Joseph and Mary Halasinski.
Friends may call Sunday, June 1, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, June 2, at 10 a.m. in Holy Trinity Church.
