The Columban Sisters are gearing up to hold their 58th Spring Festival on the grounds of St. Columban's on the Lake on Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.
This annual spring festival is a major fundraiser for the Columban Sisters. The proceeds are solely used to support the work of the Columban Sisters at the home and in the 12 mission countries where they serve.
The highlights of the festival include some of the old favorites: a Chiavetta's chicken barbecue, many different booths with wonderful prizes and St. Columban's very own baker's booth featuring Sister Mary's tastiest pies, coffee cakes and other specialty baked goods. There will also be a variety of raffles including $5,000 in cash prizes, an Amish handmade quilt, two generous wine baskets, an elegant bistro set and Keurig Coffee maker. Also available will be an assortment of refreshments, including delicious fried ice cream. For the adults, there will be a variety of games of chance. There is fun for the kids as well, with a bounce house, pony rides, games and crafts.
St. Columban’s 58th Spring Festival will be held Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.
This year, the festival has expanded with the introduction of new booths, a watermelon eating contest, and more fun activities for all ages.
One of the new booths is a silent theme basket auction that is jammed packed with all sorts of great gifts. The festival will also feature a brand new activity for adults and older youths called the "Lagoon of Doom" log roll where skills will be tested and the competition is fierce. Visit this event for a day of fun where everyone will be entertained.
