Chautauqua County Roller Derby's Fourth Annual Summer Bruise In will take place Sunday,?June 8 at the Allen?Park?Ice Rink in Jamestown. The Babes of Wrath will face Corry, Pa.'s Nightmares on Main Street. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. and the action starts with the first whistle at 5:30 p.m. This is the second home bout of the Babes' 2014 season. A Cruise In at the Bruise In will take place starting at 3:30 p.m. Cars, trucks, and bikes are welcome. The Babes of Wrath represent Chautauqua and Warren counties in one of the fastest growing sports in the country, and more than 400 women's flat track roller derby leagues worldwide. All Babes of Wrath bouts raise money for charity, and proceeds from the 4th Annual Summer Bruise In will benefit the Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue, a non-profit rescue group formed to help the neediest dogs and puppies in our area - the strays, the orphaned and the abandoned. Tickets are $8 presale, $10 at the door, children under 12 are free. Following the bout, The Babes will host a family-friendly after party at the rink, featuring lawn games, food and the opportunity to meet the skaters. Chautauqua County Roller Derby is an all-volunteer organization.
