The annual spring banquet of Chadwick Bay Garden Club was held recently at the White Horse Inn in Cassadaga. Tables were adorned with a burst of colorful pink, white, yellow, orange and red everblooming begonias.
Club members not able to attend, were not forgotten; each one also received a begonia plant.
Members were happy to be together again and look forward to the joys of spring, summer and fall in their gardens.

The theme "Nurturing the Seeds of Peace" was discussed by President Brenda Hennessey as she presented each member with the colorful 2014-15 program booklet. An annual civic program of the Chadwick Bay Garden Club takes place at the Dunkirk Lighthouse. The Lighthouse grounds will be beautified by members. They will fill containers with geraniums, spikes, vines and many colorful annuals for all visitors to enjoy. Members were also encouraged to attend the Bud 'n Bloom Garden Club Plant Sale. In June, everyone looks forward to a visit to The Edwards Waterhouse Inn with a tour and high tea. Visits to the Nass Day Lily Farm, garden tours, a flower arrangement workshop and a fall craft workshop, will all follow in the next few months.
Chadwick Bay Garden Club was established over 50 years ago and is still "home" to some of the founding mothers of the Club.
The group is inspired by John Barton's quote "The pathway leading to a successful garden is paved with a curious blend of dreaming and doing."
Anyone who would like to join a local garden club of dreamers and doers may call President Brenda Hennessey at 679-4915 for information.
